A Trenton woman has been arrested and charged in connection with a March shooting that left a man wounded and endangered children, authorities said.
Trenton police said officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation at about 3:58 p.m. March 9 in the area of 55 Hobart Ave. Officers arriving at the scene located a gunshot victim in the parking lot of 1242 Hamilton Ave.
The victim, described by police as a 27-year-old Hispanic man, was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was listed in stable condition.
Detectives determined that children were present during the shooting and that a nearby residence was struck by gunfire.
Authorities identified the suspect as Shantell Lynch, 28, of Trenton, and issued warrants for her arrest.
On April 14, Lynch was taken into custody by members of the U.S. Marshals Service. She is being held pending court proceedings.
Lynch faces charges including criminal attempted homicide, two counts of aggravated assault, aggravated assault for pointing a firearm, possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a weapon, endangering the welfare of a child, criminal mischief and active warrants.
