The driver crashed her car following a medical emergency last month.

An emotional reunion took place at the Washington Township Police Department Wednesday as a woman stopped by to thank the platoon of patrol officers who revived her after she suffered a heart attack and crashed her vehicle a block away from headquarters.

On March 28 at about 8:23 a.m., officers responded to Greentree Road for a report of a motor vehicle crash in front of an assisted living facility. The driver was reported to be unconscious and not breathing.

"Within one minute, Officers Tucker, Swan, McNair, Dante Moore — on his first day of solo patrol — Cicatiello, and Matos arrived on scene," Washington Township Police said in a statement. "Officers located the driver unresponsive, locked inside the vehicle. They quickly forced entry by breaking several windows to gain access. After removing the driver, they determined she was not breathing and had no pulse."

Officers began CPR and used a defibrillator in an attempt to restart her heart. They continued life-saving efforts until EMS workers arrived and transported the woman, identified as Mrs. Friedrich, to Jefferson Hospital.

"She’s expected to make a full recovery from the cardiac arrest and broken ribs from the CPR compressions," police said.

On Wednesday, Friedrich — wearing a shirt proudly stating "I'm back" — visited headquarters with her family and a catered Chick-fil-A meal to express gratitude for the officers' efforts.
