The heat is on again for Wednesday and could set new records across the tri-state. From New Jersey to Long Island, cities are expected to reach high temperatures nearly 20 degrees above normal.
Long Island, Westchester, New Jersey, the Bronx and Brooklyn are currently forecasted to surpass previous high temperature records.
Long Island's forecast calls for a high of 80 degrees on Wednesday, which would beat the previous record of 78 set in 2024.

Westchester is forecasted to reach 86 by Wednesday afternoon, which would beat the longstanding record of 83 set back in 1960.
New Jersey is forecasted to reach a high of 90, which would beat the previous record of 88 at Newark Liberty International Airport in 1960.

Bronx and Brooklyn are forecasted to reach 88 degrees, which is just slightly warmer than the previous record of 87 set back in 1941 at Central Park.
Connecticut's forecast is a close call! The forecast is 80 degrees. However, the previous record was 81 set back in 1960.
New Jersey and Westchester have the best chances of tying or setting a new record. There will be efficient daytime heating, which will really help these areas to soar. In fact, if you're further inland and far from the coast, you have a really good shot of a nice warm-up.
